-Every day, more than 2,500 kids age 12 to 17 try a painkiller non-medically for the first time.

-Teens abuse prescription drugs more than any illicit street drug except marijuana.

-Drug treatment admissions for prescription painkillers increased more than 300 percent from 1996 to 2006.

-1 in 5 teens abuse prescription drugs.


Boise Police Department, Ada County Sheriff and Garden City Police Department Offer Medication Collection Sites with “No Questions Asked”

Medicine Drop Off
Unwanted medications and old prescriptions can be dropped off for free and safe disposal. Collection sites are accessible in the lobby of the locations listed below.

Program Guidelines
Items can be dropped off at any location during business hours.
Medications may be bagged.
Liquid containers must be sealed in a plastic bag to prevent spills. Do not pour liquids into the collection bin.
Medications must fit into the drop chute. If the container is too large, please ask at the counter for assistance.
